This cookie policy explains what cookies are and how we use them on our website.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are stored on your computer, smartphone, or tablet, when you visit a website. Cookies have many purposes as websites can read the content of a cookie, when you revisit the website. Cookies do not pose a threat – like a virus, towards your computer, smartphone, or tablet and the cookies on your computer/browser will never be able to access any of your installed programs.
Three types of cookies:
- Session cookies: This type of cookie only exists while you are visiting a website. The session cookie will be deleted when you leave the website.
- Persistent cookies: This type of cookie is stored on your computer, smartphone, or tablet for a longer period of time.
- Third party cookies: This type of cookie is placed by someone else than the owner of the website. The third-party cookie is normally stored for a longer period of time.
How are the three types of cookies used?
Session cookie: When visiting a webshop, the session cookie will e.g. remember the item you have placed in the basket between, when you browse through different pages on the website. Since the session cookie only exists when visiting the website the basket will be empty, if you return to the webshop the next day.
Persistent cookies: In some cases information about your visit on a website will be stored for a longer period of time – through the persistent cookie. This means that if you have visited a webshop and placed a product in the basket, you will find that the item still appears in the basket, if you return to the webshop days after you placed it there.
Third party cookie: The third-party cookie is stored if a website uses for example Google Analytics.
